Happy Canyon Pizza, Arlington

Driving down I-84 after a long, out-of-state trip with unsatisfying food my family finally decided to stop and eat at what ever town we found. We pulled off into Arlington to be greeted by a deserted "Village Inn Resturant." Not a good sign...but down the street was an equally unpromising looking spot, but we where hungry.
The faded sign, cinder brick building, all signs of a high quality meal.

While they advertised pizza, I decided to get a $16.50 8-piece broasted chicken dinner for all of us to share. So we sat down, ordered and waited. The decor was part diner part hunting lodge with deer horns and a stuffed bager. I assume they where Green Bay Packers fans, too, as the prize deer head wore a wedge of cheese on his head. Did I mention we waited? Well, I figured this place was like most and had pre-made chicken, but they broasted it all to order. When we finally got our food (which wasn't actually long for chicken that was made from scratch), it was amazing.

The leftovers
Crisp, perfect, salty crust around giant pieces of moist chicken. Even the white meat was moist and yummy. The jojos were cut in house and thick seasoned with a light salt, and the coleslaw had a hint of sweet followed by a whisp of vinegar.  In otherwords: a wonderful, unexpected suprise. And a great low price! The pizza was also pretty good looking as it was made to order on house-made dough.

I'm looking foreward to another reason to stop by here. So if you are ever barreling down I-84, don't pass this place by.
